Account Manager allows IT staff to quickly address common daily tasks such as: Change or reset a user domain password, unlock a user domain account, disable / enable a user account, and verify a user’s identity during a help desk call by viewing up to 8 different AD account attributes (customizable). If you use our Password Reset PRO self service software, Account Manager can also be used to reset a user’s enrolled profile in the Password Reset PRO system.
The primary purpose for this tool is to provide a path for your help desk staff to quickly handle common user account and password related issues without having to give them full admin rights and access to an Active Directory MMC console (ADUC). Account Manager software for Active Directory can be used on a specific OU, person, or the entire domain. Rights to perform specific actions within Account Manager are controlled by standard group policies and you may configure these rights as appropriate for use in your environment. By using delegated rights in AD, you can allow your IT staff to perform some or all of the available actions in Account Manager. All activities performed by the Account Manager software are logged to the local computer’s event log for auditing by default. Alternatively, the audit log output can be redirected to a central Syslog server for collection.

Account Manager – System Requirements:
- Domain member workstation or server: Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, Win7, Win8 / 8.1, Win10
- Total installed RAM required – Small domains (5000 or less users) – 1gb. Large domains (5000+ users) 2gb. We recommend these amounts to make sure the application has enough available memory to run if other applications are also running
- Disk space – 3mb
- .NET Framework v2 or v3.5 must be installed. .NET v2 is different than v1 or v3 and is already an enabled part of 2008, Windows 8. Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and Windows 10 must enable .NET 3.5
- 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 Active Directory
- User must have local admin rights on computer to run / configure software, at very least must have rights to access the HKLM\Software\SysOpTools portion of computer registry
- User must be logged on to computer with a domain\user account that can access the Active Directory of the licensed domain(s) in software. This is particularly important if you will be using Account Manager to manage users in multiple domains.
